My client, a fast growing start-up in Edinburgh, is looking for a Data Scientist to join the team as they are looking to expand and have some exciting plans ahead for this year. They are looking for someone with a background in analytics and a good understanding of core back-end development practices to build the Data Science practice from scratch.The company is all about using Data and Technology to improve people's lives, the ideal candidate will be proactive and will ideally be looking to join a fast-paced organisation which enables people to improve the quality of their lives. You will need to have a passion for Data Science and feel comfortable building the practice from scratch as the team is still growing. Responsibilities:Work alongside the CTO and build the Data Science practice by applying the best Data Science practicesDevelop Machine Learning models and applicationsWork on scheduling algorithms utilising your analytics skillsBe ready to get involved in all aspects of the company - they're growing and want to see someone proactive and ready to advise and get involved even if it's not in the job description!Skills:Analytics backgroundStrong understanding of back-end development practices (Java, Ruby preferably) Experience with Machine LearningKnowldegde of HTML, CSS and SQL/NoSQLIn exchange they offer great career progression opportunities and a good equity package.
