Job Title: Multi Skilled Maintenance TechnicianLocation: BristolSalary: £24,000 per annumJob Type: Full time, PermanentWorking Hours: Working on a rota'd basis 5/7 days, which includes regular weekends and bank holidays.The Company:This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, hardworking Maintenance Technician to join the team at the Aquarium.Located in the heart of Bristol's Harbourside, the Aquarium is one of the South-West's premier animal attractions.This iconic aquarium is home to around 4000 individual animals in over 40 displays, all situated on two floors and throughout a glasshouse showcasing a raised walkway which winds through an extensive botanical collection.Their Aquarium is part of worldwide leisure company, a Spanish multinational company with its headquarters based in Madrid. They and operates over 65 leisure attractions across Europe, 10 of which are located in the UK.Key Responsibilities:To ensure the Aquarium and all parts of the building (internal and external) are presented to the highest standard and the environment is kept safe, clean and welcoming for customers and staff.To ensure all facilities are kept in good working order and maintained on a day to day basis.Where it is safe and you are qualified to do so carry out own maintenance work.To plan, document and implement a preventative maintenance schedule listing daily, weekly, monthly and yearly obligations and ensure it is upheld and reviewed 6 monthly.To organise maintenance work to ensure smooth daily operation of the attraction and, where necessary, carry out maintenance work outside of normal working hours.To organise and manage job priorities in conjunction with the General Manager to agreed deadlines.To provide an emergency call out serviceEnsure that plant rooms, pump rooms, bin rooms and workshop are in good working order and kept safe and tidy.To ensure that maintenance supplies / consumables are stored safely and securely, and that usage is monitored and stock ordered in accordance with company procedures.To liaise with external contractors, ensuring compliance with the Aquarium's internal rules, external Health and Safety regulations obtaining appropriate guarantees of materials and work.To control department costs in line with targets, achieving best value for money for the company taking into account time, cost and quality parametersTo administer the maintenance department documentation such as purchase orders and invoices.To ensure that reporting is relevant timely and accurate.To control all health and safety standards within the department and ensure all areas of the the Aquarium are safe for customers and staff particularly when maintenance work is being carried out.To implement regular security reviews and to ensure the site security systems and procedures are in-place and adhered to by all staff at all times.To ensure compliance with Fire safety regulations and take corrective action when required.To report health and safety hazards to Duty Manager taking actions where possible to ensure safe operation.Complete fire walks and fire procedures inductions with new staff and conduct refresher training for existing staff.
