IT Service Desk Technician - Up to £25k This role is for a competent IT Service Desk Technician to provide fast and useful technical assistance on computer systems. Strong technical knowledge and clear communicative skills are integral to this position. This company have achieved great success and growth in recent years, they have over 450 staff, having started in Manchester.DescriptionIT Service Desk Technician - Up to £25kOur client are looking for driven, competent, proactive Service Desk Technicians to support their computer systems and applications across over 200 users.The role will be comprised of 60% Service Desk, 20% Team Operations, and 20% Administrative work. Key responsibilities include:Being the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance via phone, email or face-to-face.Protecting the company's IT systems against cyber threats by adhering to their Information & IT Security policies.Ensuring a high level of customer service and support is provided to all internal and external customers.Performing local and remote troubleshooting, using diagnostic techniques and authorised software as well as asking pertinent questions to determine the cause of the issue.Determine the best solution based on the details provided by the customer.Provide accurate information to the customer and keeping them up to date on the status of the issue.Escalate any issues to the next level of support or third-party solution providers as required. Perform daily system checks, including: ensuring Cyber Security Systems are active; Verifying the integrity and availability of all applications, services and system resources; Reviewing system and application logs, looking for potential issues; Verifying completion of scheduled jobs. Working collaboratively within the IT Team and assist with: managing the Asset Database and tracking changes where necessary; Installing authorised software on company assets; Ensuring that licensing for all software purchased is recorded and maintained; Maintenance of operations/system/network procedures and documentation, including identifying potential improvements. To assist with Operational Activities, including: Active Directory Management (setting up new users, disabling expired accounts and changes to accounts); Office 365 Administration (setting up users, assigning licenses and disabling accounts); Setting up and Configuring new PCs, Laptops, Tablets and Mobile Phones; Maintance of operational/system/network documentation.ProfileOur client are looking for determined Service Desk Technicians to consolidate their experience and excel within a supportive and friendly environment. The IT department are a small, tight-knit team responsible for supporting and maintaining the company's IT Systems across all company sites and for providing efficient desktop support to all business users. Responsible for resolving any IT-related faults efficiently, including a broad range of queries and enhancing the development of IT provision within the business.
