MuleSoft Specialist Role

Location - London

Day Rate - £400

IR35 - Outside

Duration - 3 Months Initially

Main Activities

*Development of the MuleSoft aspects of the STP application

*Technical design, Coding, Configuration and Administration of the MuleSoft environment

*Provide advice and guidance to the project on the potential use of MuleSoft, development approaches

*Unit testing including the investigation and resolution of defects identified user acceptance testing.

*Support for end users.

*Creation and maintenance of consistent and comprehensive documentation for the STP systems, including support documentation

*Provide advice and guidance on potential uses of MuleSoft across the Department.

*Deployment of solutions between environments

*Maintenance of software artefacts within a controlled environment

PERSON SPECIFICATION

General Requirements

*Identify, analyse and develop interfaces and integration flows using Mule ESB Any Point platform including Mule Runtime, Connectors, Design Centre and API management

* Responsible for programming and software development using various programming languages and related tools and frameworks, reviewing code written by other programmers, requirement gathering, bug fixing, testing, documenting and implementation.

*Explain complex technical issues to project managers, developers, team leads and architects in an easy to understand manner and recommend clearly thought out solutions.

*Deep understanding of Synchronous / Asynchronous communication patterns and problem- solving abilities with respect to Message Sequencing, Correlation, and Queuing

*Knowledge of Integration Design patterns for building middleware systems from the ground up using Message Routing, Content Enrichment, Message Filtering, Message Transformation, Guaranteed Delivery, Message Sequencing, Batch Message processing, error handling and reconciliation mechanisms.

*Knowledge of Web Services Interoperability, WS-* standards and ability to suggest, criticize and formulate solutions in a multi-vendor and architecture committee meetings.

*Develop solutions by designing system specifications, standards and programming

*Troubleshoot issues and provide bug fixes

*Good knowledge of SOA architecture and fluency in web service standards such as WSSE and technologies (XML, SOAP, WSDL, XSD, UDDI, REST) is a must

*Good understanding of relational databases

*Implementation experience with Mule API management portal or another framework is preferred

*Some implementation experience with framework-based J2EE solutions is preferred

*Knowledge of Security, Logging, Auditing, Policy Management and Performance Monitoring and KPI for end-to-end process execution

*Provide status updates and reporting metrics to the program leadership and contribute towards on-time and on-budget delivery

*Evidence of expertise-level MuleSoft training and/or certification

Essential Criteria

*At least 3 years' experience of developing on the MuleSoft platform in a technical and architectural capacity

*5+ years of software development experience. Software integration and/or other ESB experience are a must.

*Experience with SOAP and REST is a must

*Solid Programming skills in one or more of J2EE, .NET, Design Patterns, JMS, SOAP / REST Web Services, XSLT, CXF, Spring Framework, etc.

*Experience with Mule administration, configuration and tuning

*Demonstrated experience implementing Mule ESB architecture, rules, caching, etc.

*Experienced troubleshooting Mule ESB, including working with debuggers, flow analysers and configuration tools.

*Experience of developing and working to formal methodologies

*Strong communication skills, able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

*Strong stakeholder management skills, ability to understand business drivers and influence how changes are implemented

Knowledge, skills and experience mandatory to the role are:

*Graduate level education or relevant professional experience.

*Evidence of continuing professional development.

*Expert level competence in the configuration of at least one of the following: -

*Formal development approaches and methodologies, in particular Agile

*The Microsoft Office suite

*Provision of advice and guidance to less experienced co-workers, including potentially trainees.

*Structured analysis and documentation of business requirements.

*Working independently and in small teams

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience

*Working in the financial services sector.

*Use of Microsoft Visual Studio and Azure DevOps

*Professional development experience using a range of technologies.

*Working with an outsourced IT service provider
