Java Developer - EdinburghSalary up to £40kWorking for an industry-leading software company the successful candidate will be a motivated individual capable of working both independently and within a larger development team.The role will provide a range of challenges working on their existing products, porting existing products to Java and developing new projects. Ideally you will be exposed to all aspects of the development lifecycle from initial specification to final delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for a keen developer with an enquiring mind to develop their skills in a dynamic environment.Essential SkillsKnowledge and experience of Java.Experience of working with a scripting language such as Python, Ruby, PHP, Perl or NodeJS.Experience of development in a Linux environment.Experience of working with a source control system, ideally git or subversion.Knowledge of Hibernate and JPA.Experience of testing Java applications.Desired SkillsExperience of developing applications in an MVC framework.Developing unit tests in Mockito.Knowledge of the Java Stream APIExperience of working with XML in Java using MOXy and JAXB.Experience of working with JSON in Java using Jackson.Experience of CI/CD using Jenkins and Archiva.Experience of the Amazon Web Services APIs.Knowledge of managing Java dependencies using Maven or SBT.Knowledge of MySQL or a similar relational database.Knowledge of JavaScript.Applicants will ideally be based in the Central Belt of Scotland and must be eligible to work in the UK.To apply or to discuss the role in further detail email [email protected] or contact 0191 814 7785.***Everything discussed will remain CONFIDENTIAL***
