Our Client: is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.
Main Goals / Objectives:
Provide technical guidance and support to the LQC analysis and problem solving teams in the measurement of Automotive Components and Vehicle Systems using the clients best practices methods to ensure that customers' needs are met.
Responsible for planning and scheduling all work through the area and prioritising the measurement workload accordingly.
Point of technical reference on all queries relating to measurement; methods, principles and standards.
Main Responsibilities:

Arrange and roll out training based on PDR objectives requirements for the Measurement Technician roles, in line with the clients standards.
Provide technical guidance and support in the selection and use of the most appropriate measurement equipment/methods and provide technical input for benchmarking and justification for the purchase of new measurement equipment.

Act as a customer interface and offer technical guidance to ensure that customer needs are met,Convey all technical requirements to the Measurement Technician to ensure that the requested data can be obtained. Check and release measurement reports in accordance to agreed client standard.Responsible for travelling to external suppliers to assist in measurement and analysis activities.

Manage workload and throughput within the area, prioritising where required.Maintain electronic measurement request system and release data to relevant customers.Ensure that all documents are stored in a standardised format/location to TS16949.

Control and schedule the build of parts/fixtures to allow for measurement and evaluation of components/systems in line with the client standards.Responsible for identifying and documenting potential concerns and cascading information to relevant owner.

Co-ordinate/schedule maintenance and calibration of all OEM equipment in line with TS16949 guidelines.Responsible for cleanliness of all equipment and workspaces to departmental guidelines.Skills / Exp :
Comprehensive knowledge of VW Group standard processes.
Previous Exp of interpreting engineering drawings.
Previous Exp in the use of measurement equipment.
Exp in calibration.
Must be Team player who is able to interact with colleagues at all levels.
Must be able to communicate technical information at an applicable level both internally and externally.
An ability to prioritise and plan workload, to work without supervision with flexibility in work patterns.
A willingness and ability to travel occasionally as required.
Practical / Technical Knowledge:
Practical understanding of engineering drawings.
Expert knowledge in the use of contact and non-contact Measurement equipment.
Knowledge of quality tools.
The knowledge of or previous Exp in CAD software.
Comprehensive computer literacy -Microsoft Excel, Word etc.
Comprehensive knowledge of Catia + KVS
Comprehensive knowledge of GDandT (Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Comprehensive knowledge of Metromec
Comprehensive knowledge of Polyworks
Comprehensive knowledge of Powerinspect and GOMinspect
An understanding of project management would be beneficial.
Exposure to analysis tools such as 8D, 5-Why, Six Sigma, fishbone etc.
