I am currently recruiting for a structural based Mechanical Engineer for an exciting project in North Yorkshire for a very innovative client. The contract length is 6 months.Degree qualified - BEng Mechanical Engineering3 years experience ideally in a mechanical engineering background (ideally offshore experience but not essential)Structural based mechanical engineerMust be capable of deriving from first principles as a force analysis / load case document consisting of free bodied diagrams (understanding an assembly in its operating conditions and deriving loads acting on the various attachment points).Able to perform basic hand calculations using shear forces and bending moment derived from the load case documentKnowledge of materials and mechanicsAble to then perform FE Analysis using the set of the predefined loadsExposure of non-linear analysis, buckling and fatigue is desirableTechnical writing - methodical with an analytic mind set and tentative to detailSome BS codes / standards exposure such as Lloyd's DNV, API, BS etc.Candidate must be proficient with 3D CAD package Solidworks and be proficient with Solidworks SimulationMust have an excellent working knowledge of ANSYS workbenchWindows proficientIf you are looking for a new contract position, please apply or send your most current CV.
