Senior Systems Administrator - Belgium - 3-6 Months My global client Is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator who is passionate about lab operations and working with both development and test teams to keep critical business functions available. Role Background: Must have good knowledge in lab operations to include hardware, hardware maintenance, network, network component maintenance, operating systems.Knowledge in third party product layers such as Apache/Tomcat and related environments are a plus.Performs analysis, acquisition, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of computer hardware, operating systems, and software utilities.Must be capable of daily work in physical lab located at the Belgium Facility in Diegem, Brussels, and coordinate remotely physical lab work with the Dublin, IRL development/test team (vehicular language is English).We are looking for an engineer who is passionate about lab operations and working with both development and test teams to keep critical business functions available. The successful candidate need to be have knowledge in some of these fields (the more the better) and willing to learn the missing assets:Hardware installation and knowledge of primary hardware types in use (Dell, Sun, HP).Storage Arrays and network storage environments (specifically NetApp setups and maintenance)vSphere (ESXi) and Virtual Machines.Working with Solaris and Microsoft environments and competent in installing and setting up such environments.Strong knowledge in networks and configuration of network components,F5 load balancers and network firewalls.Administrative background in lab diagrams, asset management, inventory management, and lab upgrade documentation a requirement.General lab operations background (patching, cabling, rack installation…)Knowledge of development and test tools.Confluence, JIRA, Bugzilla, Hadoop, Elastic search, Oracle databases, JAVA, SPLUNK, scripting. The day to day work is:Manage the deployment, upgrades, and maintenance of servers, hardware, softwareProvide system administration of hardware, operating systems, application software, and overall solutionsMaintain server backup systems and monitor system performanceCreate procedures for installation, use, and solving problems for IT hardware and software The candidate requirements are:Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university and 3+ years related experience or equivalent experienceAbility to type and fundamental knowledge of computer word processors, database, and spreadsheet applicationsAbility to learn and communicate in a team in English We are looking for a senior engineer with strong networking and network storage background that can do systems administration at the hardware, base operating system, middleware, and application layers with a strong background in configuration, setup, and troubleshooting.We want someone that can take ownership of our NetApp clouds internationally (Belgium, Dublin, Richardson TX, and Ashburn VA) , configure and tune them to "sing".A strong background with ESXi and VM environments and setups ranging from monitoring, maintenance, configuration, and tuning is a plus.
