At the moment I am looking for a Unix System Engineer to work in Amsterdam, The Netherlands for a 6 months contract with the chance to get renewed at one of the biggest Telecom company's in the Netherlands. You have proven experience as a skilled Unix Systems Engineer who has undertaken consolidation and migration activities for AIX and UNIX. You will provide migration recommendations and guidance to migration planning; working with Migration Schedulers and Execution Leads. You will technically plan and execute the migration of UNIX (AIX, Solaris) physical servers to updated hardware and undertake logical decommissioning activities associated with UNIX physical servers which have been migrated. Must Haves:Experience with installing and administering operating Systems including AIX, Solaris, RHEL Linux and Oracle Enterprise Linux.Experience of Virtualization Tooling including VMware, Oracle Virtual Machine, Solaris LDOMs & Zones.Proven experience in security, hardening and patching.
