Front-End Analyst Programmer -HTML - REDHILL

My client is one of the UK's leading gas and electricity supplier , due to large scale growth they are recruiting a Front-End Analyst Programmer to be based in there Redhill office .

JOB DIMENSIONS

*This role will involve liaising with a number of departments to determine their requirements and to discuss with E-Commerce manager with a view to creating projects / solutions for customers.

*They need very good problem solving skills and programming skills - developed from practical experience with Portal Applications and Projects.

*They should have good communication skills and able to articulate information both verbally and in written form.

ACTIVITIES

*Assist with the support and maintenance of the Liferay Portal system with a view to configuration, performance, security and programming portlets or applications.

*Possess a good knowledge of Portal and content management project experience using Java, J2EE, SOA and middleware.

*Understand the project lifecycle involved from designing to creating portlets to provide increased functionality to the Portal Users.

*Understand the configuration necessary to augment the set up of users on the Liferay Portal system and provide recommendations that follow and maintain best practice for such environments.

*Understand how to adapt the configuration of Liferay portlets to pass through authentication details to 3rd party applications.

*Be able to create new Themes for Liferay based upon customer requirements.

*Be comfortable providing demonstrations / presentations on how the proper use of Liferay can improve the efficiency of teams and their provision of services to customers.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Personal skills

*Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

*Adaptability, flexibility in working within a team and the ability to work with minimal supervision

*Strong Analytical/Problem Solving skills

*Able to use initiative and be self sufficient in taking ownership of a given area

*Work well under pressure

*Organisation and planning abilities, ability to prioritise as required.

*The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, business and IT, technical and non-technical

*Commercial awareness in the impact of the role, systems and projects undertaken.

*Good customer attitude and approachability

Technical skills

*Good knowledge of XHTML, CSS, Javascript is essential. Knowledge of jsp, velocity and java programming useful.

*Over 3 years experience in web design and SEO. Knowledge of configuring apache web servicers useful.

*Good knowledge of current events and developments in the web design / development environment.
