The Role
As a Senior Researcher you will be integral to a Smart IoT Research group which is at the forefront of innovation concerned with managing and enhancing modern life. The group is currently focusing on the research and development of efficient IoT-driven and AI-enabled algorithms and applying them for advancing transport, connected cars and smart distribution centres, etc..
This role will involve using AI related technologies and semi-structured data manipulation to extract information from diverse and hybrid IoT data and use this information to develop techniques to optimise the underlying processes.
What skills do you need? Strong academical background; ideally a first class degree and also attained a relevant postgraduate qualification or PhDExposure to data analytics with emphasis on IoT-driven data (Machine Learning, Deep Learning)Sound mathematical background to understand, to model, to optimise constrained programming problems, and to solve combinatorial optimisation using game theoryExtensive software engineering background; facility in interpreted (e.g. Python) and compiled (e.g. Java) languagesAble to express ideas in proof of concept and production quality codeAdaptability, willingness to learn new fields and develop new skill setsIt would also be highly desirable to have knowledge in web based systems and distributed data processing.The Company
