This role is an exciting opportunity to build on your current skills and develop new ones as you'll be required to handle both the technical and functional aspects of SAP ERP (an SAP S/4 HANA migration is planned). You could be an expert in either, but would need to be willing to embrace either functional or technical capabilities based on your current specialism. What you'll be doing As a Technical Consultant, you'll provide full end-to-end technical concepts and support for our logistics function within an established SAP ERP environment. Working in a team of functional SAP specialists and ABAP developers, you'll deliver solutions that fulfil business requirements. As a Functional Consultant, you'll provide full end-to-end SAP solutions for our logistics function, covering SAP ERP (MM, PP) from analysis and design, implementation and beyond, to maintenance and application operations. You'll make sure that new changes are addressed and business requirements are met, interacting closely with the business partners and external IT suppliers/SAP developers. Qualifications and Experience: Who we're looking for Essential qualifications/experience required as a Technical Consultant: General understanding of ABAP incl. debugging; Documenting and executing test cases and using testing tools for functions of high complexity; Setting up and supporting interfaces using a variety of middleware technologies running on a LINUX server platform; The ability to support an operational SAP system, investigate and resolve issues and ensure a stable operational environment within defined SLAs, providing on call support as defined by a rota; Monitoring and performance tuning to improve performance over multiple functions; Engaging other team members in the design, delivery and deployment of solutions; Managing technical and functional aspects of SAP maintenance, acting as the primary point of contact to the central SAP Basis team. Desirable experience: Experience with interface technologies such as iDOCs, EDI (EDIFACT, VDA), RFC, Web Services incl. OData, MQS, Connect Direct, information brokers to Non-SAP systems/EAI; Performing work during change windows as well as providing on call support; Taking functional requirements and transforming them into an effective design, working with an ABAP consultant to progress through to testing and production; Understanding of automotive logistics functions available in SAP (esp. MM, PP) and how they can be effectively deployed into a manufacturing environment; SAP authorisation management (users and roles); Agile software development (incl. JIRA and Confluence). Essential qualifications/experience required as a Functional Consultant: Hands-on experience of SAP rollouts, with functional design in the areas of SAP MM, PP (Knowledge in QM, WM, PM, SD would be advantageous); Experience in a range of process areas that include (at least some of) Material planning (MRP), Material flow, Quality Management, Production planning (both MTO and MTS), Inventory Management, Master data management; A proven ability to solve business challenges with effective solutions based on sound functional design; Comfortable interacting with business users at different management levels; Proven ability to lead IT projects; The ability to support an operational SAP system, investigate and resolve issues and ensure a stable operational environment within defined SLAs, providing on call support as defined by a rota; The ability to work within international projects with distributed teams. Desirable experience: SAP certification in MM or another module; Experience in agile software development (incl. JIRA and Confluence); Experience with interface technologies such as iDOCs, EDI (EDIFACT, VDA), RFC, Web Services incl. OData, MQS, Connect Direct, information brokers to Non-SAP systems / EAI; Ability to understand ABAP and to debug code; SAP authorisation management (users and roles); ITIL certification.
