Our Engineering team is expanding to support our open source and commercial applications and systems that thousands of Open University students use every day to study everything from astrophysics to nursing to fine art. We are looking for creative and innovative Developers to join the team on a permanent basis and to help design and build high volume, highly available and high performance quality web applications. 

Our key ambition is to drive our extraordinary technology stack even further and continue winning industry awards. Through your software development expertise, you'll work in an agile team of experienced leading engineers upon The Open University's Moodle virtual learning environment amongst many other software projects.  Working with customers and Product Managers, you will contribute to the future direction of the products that we build, solving problems and developing new features through quality, scalable, performant and maintainable technical solutions. The solutions that you will be responsible for will have a global reach, impacting thousands of customers.

You'll be a passionate, pragmatic Developer with an inquisitive mind who is motivated to make change for the better and most importantly put our customer first. You'll enjoy working as part of a team and be a keen problem solver. Comfortable with modern engineering practices and web development tooling and technologies you'll use innovation to help improve the customer experience and efficiency of our engineering teams.

Some of the tech we are using at scale: HTML/CSS, JavaScript, PHP, databases (PostgresSQL, MS SQL Server), Java, .Net, C#, Oracle SOA, Node.js, Ionic, Angular, Jenkins, Docker, and Cloud Infrastructure.
