1st Line Helpdesk Support Engineer - Aldermaston - £18,000 to £22,000A market leading organisation based in Aldermaston are looking for a 1st Line Helpdesk Support Engineer to provide technical support to users/agents, assisting them with hardware and software problems via phone, email or onsite.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo provide technical support; answering support queries either onsite or via phone or emailTo maintain a high degree of service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principlesTo take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issuesRespond to enquiries from users/agents and help them resolve any hardware or software problemsMaintain a log of any software or hardware problems detectedSupport users in the use of Computer equipment by providing necessary training and adviceTo allocate more complex service issues to the relevant IT Support memberTo arrange for external technical support where problems cannot be resolved in houseSkills / Attributes RequiredRelevant 1st line / Helpdesk support experience Strong knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems with emphasis on Windows desktop technologies (Windows 7 / 8 / 10)Exopsure to using and troubleshooting Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel PowerPoint)Knowledge of using and troubleshooting Outlook within a network environment (permissions, calendar sharing, and delegation)Basic understanding of PC hardware set-up and configurationMCP certification would be beneficial, but is not essentialIf you are at all interested please submit your CV and contact me, Tom Dennett, at Evolution.
