Senior Software Developer / C# / ASP.NET / SQL / Permanent / 45-60k / Guernsey

My client, a leading Financial Services organisation are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Software Developer to join them on a permanent basis in their St Peter Port (Guernsey) based office. This a great opportunity to join a long established financial services organisation who are experiencing a recent rapid period of growth and need additional staff as they develop their operational model and supporting systems.

Please note the role is open to local candidates and also candidates that are willing / looking to relocate to Guernsey; a 5 year local housing license will be given.

The Role:

*The job involves supporting and developing a variety of in-house and package application systems delivering essential capabilities for our business

*The role is based within a flexible multi-skilled team, whose members are required to be energetic, creative and delivery focussed, able to collaborate well to maximise overall team effectiveness.

*The work requires liaison with business users over application software requirements, and with external suppliers over third party components and software services.

*The environment is very dynamic. People are expected to be able to handle change as the norm, and are encouraged to take responsibility.

*Prioritisation and decison-making are important requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Involvement in all aspects of the application software lifecycle, as follows:

*Analysing business requirements and translating them into technical deliverables

*Depending on the application, either liaising with third party software providers to provide a solution, or developing the solution hands-on

*Testing

*Deployment

*Support, including diagnostics, definition and delivery of solutions

In addition:

*Managing relations with business users

*Communication with other system support teams

*Liaising with 3rd party Suppliers for system changes

*Provide support/inputs for strategic decisions to enable the continuous enhancement of the systems

*Contribution of improvement ideas

Skills and Experience:

Essential experience/skills:-

*At least 5 years experience of software development in a professional environment

*Good capability in business applications architecture and software design

*Knowledge and skills in systems integration and interfacing

*Familiar with Project Management methodologies

*Development of online systems with ASP.NET & C#

*Experience of structured testing

*SQL and databases

*Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

*Delivery and quality focused

*Willingness to work in a flexible and dynamic team environment

*Problem solving

Desirable:-

*Financial / Insurance Sector experience

*Other programming languages

*Data Warehouse and ETL

*SAP Financials

*Microsoft Dynamics (CRM)

*ESB

*Management Information / OLAP

Additional Details:

*45-60k salary with annual reviews

*10% Pension contribution; 10-15% discretional annual bonus; and health insurance

*5 year housing licence
