Software Engineer (Python MATLAB Scalability Infrastructure). Are you a highly intelligent Software Engineer looking for a role where you will be challenged and can work collaboratively with some of the world's brightest minds to solve some of the most complex and interesting problems in financial trading technology?

As a Software Engineer at this hugely profitable algorithmic trading company you will work closely with Quantitative Researchers to provide software infrastructure for high performance computing; ensuring that there is robust, scalable code underpinning the performance and reliability of crucial systems. You'll focus on projects such as a task scheduling and distribution engine, mechanisms for error handling and automated recovery of large batch jobs and observability systems for trend and event monitoring.

This is a new team so a great opportunity to help build a new technology group from the beginning. You'll be writing software that runs on a complete cluster currently containing 12,000 CPUs, 330TBs of memory and 34PBs of usable storage. You'll be able to impact change and will quickly see the results of your work.

Requirements:

*You have an outstanding record of academic achievement; minimum 2.1 from a top tier university in a scientific, technical or numeric discipline

*You have an advanced knowledge of Python and the ability to write user facing code in MATLAB

*You have a good understanding of underlying hardware in large scale systems and how to make the best of it

*You have experience with large scale batch processing systems, scheduling and dependency management
