Lead complex digital projects that cut across boundaries
Westminster is dynamic, multicultural and unique - much like our employees. Their expertise and commitment has enabled Westminster to thrive, despite reductions in public sector funding. One of the ways we achieve this is through innovative partnerships with like-minded neighbours. We are currently working on a series of technology-led projects with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It means the opportunity to work for a leading local authority while having an impact that reaches far further.
We are committed to putting customers at the heart of all our IT design and we'll expect you to do the same. Championing collaborative working, you will lead the development and implementation of a series of complex, high-profile, digital projects across our two councils. Heading up a team of IT professionals, you will ensure that realistic project, quality, change control and risk management processes are maintained. This includes the management of resources, revenue, capital costs and stakeholder relationships. You will also coach and mentor the project team and ensure a smooth handover of completed projects to the business.
You'll be an experienced IT professional with track-record of managing complex projects in fast-paced delivery environments. This should include familiarity with agile/lean development environments, in which you will have worked as a scrum master. You will have a full grasp of customer-centric digital services and knowledge of developing user-centred designs. Familiarity with the local or central government environment would be helpful, including exposure to the Local Government Digital Service Standard (LGDSS).
What We Offer
If you're as productive as you are ambitious and collaborative as you are enterprising, this is your chance to take real ownership of your work, right in the heart of iconic Westminster, a true ‘City for All'. This is a unique place where it all happens. And where it could all happen for you. As a progressive and innovative organisation, we welcome applications from candidates keen to work in an agile environment with flexible conditions.
