This is an incredible opportunity to join one of Bristol's most established leading aerospace manufacturers as an Optimisation Engineer. This opportunity focused on the continue support and ongoing development of their existing and new capabilities within a greatly advanced software tool for the optimisation and analysis of structure in relation to the centre wing-box.
This Optimisation Engineer role mostly covers being written in C++ but other beneficial languages can include Fortran & Python. It is an essential requirement to have a demonstrable career in in software development. Something that would be greatly beneficial to my client would be an understanding of engineering principles and or physics.
Day-to-day duties include for an Optimisation Engineer;
* You'll be directly involved in the development of new features and the updating of existing code base as desired and appropriate by my client.
* Creation and running of the validation test cases. To resolve issues via debugging of code.
* Reporting and communication of the progress and escalation of issues as required to the Software Architect
Key Skills & Competencies;
* Any degree or postgraduate experience in Mathematics, Engineering or Physics.
* Knowledge of object-oriented principles is a key requirement.
* As mentioned above Software Development, experience utilising such tools such as Python, Fortran. However, the most important to my client is C++.
* A highly desirable competency would be experience in the use of Finite Element Analysis tools like Nastran or MSC Patran - this isn't required but would enrich your application.
