We are currently looking for an expert Electronics Engineer to join a close-knit team based in Reading. This position will be the owner of the electronics design of all products, supporting the hardware team in defining, designing, testing, validating and certifying them, and ensuring that all requirements are fulfilled.

You'll be a key member of the business, with important responsibilities such as new product specification, design, testing and review. You can expect to travel occasionally to manufacturing/stakeholder sites too. This role will have you involved within the full R&D process.

Responsibilities:

* Define and write the hardware specifications based on customer and internal requirements for products, working closely with the product manager.

* Create schematics.

* Select appropriate components to suit and work with supply chain to source these.

* Deliver and implement thorough test plans of the electrical designs

* Outsource and manage the design validation testing, writing and sharing test reports.

* Visit some UK labs for pre-compliance testing.

* Ensure the design delivery is complete.

* Work with the manufacturing team towards the validation of test jigs.

* Review and support the manufacturing process (support for the manufacturing team).

* This role might include occasional travel in the UK and abroad.

* Potential mentor-ship opportunities (1-2 Graduates).

What you'll bring:

* Degree or higher in a relevant subject to electronics or relevant experience.

* Knowledge in analog electronic design (experience in linear or switched-mode power supplies, experience in component selection, experience of PCB technology, knowledge of RF design).

* Experience in certifying electronic/RF products for the European market (RED, LV, RoHS).

* Experience in electronic manufacturing process (DFM, testing, automation).

* Experience in reliability design/tools (HALT, ALT, DFMEA).

* Experience in quality processes.
