Our client is looking for a 3rd Line Support Engineer to focusing on providing 3rd level and development support to all their systems. The successful candidate will work managing multiple concurrent tasks with varying technologies adopting developer / operations (DevOps) attitudes to ensure successful delivery of various internal & external projects.

The role will involve:

* To support the Operations Team in ensuring the smooth functioning of Landmark's applications and other server systems; to liaise with customer support, developers, product managers, suppliers and other System Administrators as required.

* To support all internally developed application to 3rd line technical support standard.

* Facilitate technical and business operations knowledge transfer to the Systems Team, including documentation of systems architecture, operations and technical support standard operating practices

* Improve the technical function and services

* Use the helpdesk database to track progress of problem resolution, keeping the Group Services teams and users informed.

* Work with Systems Administrators to identify repeating incidents and escalate into the Problem Management log.

* To support all internally developed application transition and release support for all development activities

The right candidate will have previous experience in a technical support and design role with in-depth experience in technical support encompassing varying hardware and software platforms. Strong communication skills are essential as is an ability to work under pressure. You will also need/be:

* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to determine appropriate solutions

* High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

* Ability to understand user requirements and translate into technical solutions

* Scripting (Perl, Python or Shell)

* Use/Understanding/Exposure to at least one high level programming language.

* Varied Windows and Linux Operating Systems administration skills

The following skills are desirable and would be an advantage:

* Proven experience in administration of IIS with .NET application connectivity.

* Proven experience with at least one CI tool set

* Proven experience in administration of Apache with Tomcat and Java application connectivity

* Proven experience in administration of Web Server connectivity to Oracle or MS SQL Databases

* Experience in diagnosing and resolving website faults in the above technologies

* Experience on providing 3rd line systems and helpdesk style technical support to internal and/or external users

* VMWare administration skills

* Experience in managing applications & solutions in at least one public cloud environment

* Proven Oracle and MS SQL Database Administration experience.

* Practical experience in monitoring and tuning database and web servers to provide a high availability service.

* IT Security practises (Firewall Technologies, encryption protocols, server build hardening)

* Networking Skills including LAN / WAN and Internet

* Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, LDAP experience

The post holder will be required to undertake on-call support duties where required. This will fall in line with the Teams' standard out of hours support practices. The post holder may additionally be required to undertake shifts which includes Saturdays and up to 8pm on weekdays where required. Please send in your word CV for full details of this great role!
