Network Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer to join an expanding and innovative tech blue-chip at their Head Office in Hatfield. The primary goal of the Network Engineer is to ensure the company's primarily Juniper-based networks & business technology runs effectively and all opportunities to automate processes are taken to increase efficiency.

The successful Network Engineer will be the go-to person for questions and queries and therefore you must be comfortable troubleshooting networking, routing and inter-connectivity problems, including troubleshooting of network device hardware failures. The Network Engineer will also be responsible for identifying and fixing recurring platform problems whilst collaborating with project teams and colleagues to look for continuous service improvements through automation, monitoring and alerting.

Skills and experience required for the Network Engineer:

* Experience supporting and solving problems within critical production infrastructure

* Deep understanding of the OSI Model and TCP/IP Stack

* Able to troubleshoot problems that will involve delving into the following areas of the network: Campus Edge (Switches and WIFI APs/Controllers), Data Centre networking, Core virtualized with MPLS and L3VPNs and EVPNs, Warehouse production wired and wireless networks, Internet Edge and Voice Transit.

* Working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems - this can be basic level.

* CCNP/JNCIP certified or equivalent experience

* Python scripting experience is highly desirable.
