Principal Java Developer - 6 Month contract - ASAP - London - £450-£500+ p/d
My client is looking for a Principal Java Developer to join their team of highly talented technologists in their central London offices, to work closely with development peers and software engineers.
Responsibilities:
* Liaise with Solution Architect & Principal Developer to ensure enterprise and architectural patterns and processes are followed and to participate in development and evolution of architecture.
* Contribute to the development of technical standards
* Act as interface between the squads and the Architect and Security Engineering communities.
* Research & assess established & emerging tools/technologies to support the business needs
* Help resolve complex technical issues
* Ensure all staff are provided with technical support to improve existing skills and on-board new ones.
* Help foster a culture of continuous improvements and innovation.
* Empower developers/squads to be accountable and responsible for their own actions and decisions.
Essential skills:
* Proficient in (but not limited to) Core Java, Javascript, XML, XQL
* Experience with spring frameworks (e.g. Spring REST)
* Experience with Queue technologies
* Knowledge of Angular
* Experience of cloud environment (AWS or Azure)
* Knowledge of System Engineering activities like Build and Deployment automation & infrastructure as code (Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Terraform).
Desirable:
* Experience with search solutions (ex. Elasticsearch).
* Experience of NoSQL and graph database platforms.
* Micro-service architectures.
