Bluetooth Firmware Engineer
Enigma People Solutions is recruiting an experienced Firmware Engineer for a fun, fast growing, real world technology, ASIC design company. Our brilliant high growth client specialises in the design of customized ICs, continued business success means they are expanding their design team in Edinburgh and are moving into a new city centre location that will allow them to double the size of their current design team. This role will suit an experienced engineer that is happy to work in a flexible, fast paced design environment.
Job Overview:
- The design team develops various application specific customer centric designs using ARM Cortex-M based microcontrollers. Moreover, they develop a range of connectivity solutions including Bluetooth Low Energy and - WIFI that support custom platforms. In this unique position will join a small team of highly competent firmware engineers and will particularly lead the code development associated to the Bluetooth chipset. You will architect, design, implement and support firmware modules and sample applications to lead customers. You will also support the IC design group development methodology and application engineering functions.

Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the definition, design and integration of Bluetooth Firmware package to support indie product development and customers engagement.
- Provide expertise to ensure optimal HW/SW partitioning.
- Design and integrate FW system to optimally work with the SOC to provide the best performances and optimum power profile.
- Engage with IP vendors to ensure deliverables quality and scope.
- Support on production milestones, demos and performance evaluation.
- Report to chip lead on a project basis and senior management for daily work allocation.
To be of interest you will demonstrate:
-MS degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering.
- Significant commercial experience in developing embedded firmware running on SOCs.
- Strong experience of developing code for Bluetooth Low Energy and 802.11 wireless protocols is a must.
- Experience in new product development
- Experience with debug of active product issues and root cause analysis providing solutions and workarounds for customers.
- Experience with ARM Cortex M series and various development tools such as IAR J-Link, GCC and ARM Keil.
- Proficient in the use of the C and C++ programming language.
- Experience with embedded RTOS and Simulation environment
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g. Perl, Python, others).
- Capable to lead Customer interface and support.
- Self-starter, excelling in a dynamic small team
