£40,000 - £50,000 pa Plus Flexible Working Options

Our client helps citizens have their voices heard and government run excellent, effective public consultations. They’re a small team, but they build software that makes a difference worldwide.

The company’s products are used to connect citizens with government. Their flagship solution is used by over 100 government organisations around the world. Customers are currently using this solution to consult the public on thousands of issues, from parking reviews to the transformation of mental health services.

Our client is now looking for a Systems Developer to develop and maintain internal tools and find ways to improve how the company works.

This is ideally a full time role, working Monday - Friday, but for the right person, part time, working Monday - Thursday is a possibility. At the moment, our client’s engineers are part time, with the option for scale-up days each month. This arrangement suits their work/life/childcare requirements perfectly.

As a Systems Developer, you will:

- Ensure that systems are version controlled, documented and accessible for others to work with

- Develop production dashboards and backup systems

- Work with off-the-shelf tools to build, test and deploy apps

- Find a way to automate repetitive tasks

- Source and manage vendor-supplied services

Interested?

To be considered as a Systems Developer, you’ll need:

- Experience of using Python to develop internal tools (our client uses this to develop their products)

- Experience of developing and maintaining internal tools, such as production dashboards and backup systems

- Experience of working with off-the-shelf tools for building, testing and deploying apps, such as Ansible configuration management and Jenkins CI test environment
