Desktop Support Engineer to be based in Milton Keynes on an initial 3 Month contract. Experienced Desktop Support Engineer required to carry out 2nd Line Support.
Job Title - Desktop Support Engineer
Location - Milton Keynes
Duration - 6 Months
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provide 2nd level support for the IT end user systems.
* Coordinate the resolution of all incidents assigned to the Desktop Support team in a timely and effective manner and against agreed SLAs
* Organising own workload using the incident management system.
* Undertake cable management between central devices and end user systems.
* Undertake physical installation, moves, hardware replacement and repairs of handsets, PCs, laptops, printers and specialist hardware.
* Undertake the installation of applications or operating systems, either manually or by using prepared procedures and scripts.
* Undertake the planning and implementation for all office move requests.
* Ability to diagnose and fault find end user infrastructure such as desktops PCs, laptops and printers.
* Responsible for the support of Audio Visual equipment.
* Recommends solutions and alternatives.
* Support for business continuity activities.
* Update Configuration Management Database on infrastructure deployment process.
* Management of IT asset process following HQ guidelines.
* Recommend new processes and procedures where none currently exist.
* Support Infrastructure Services Manager in improvement of services.
* Support Early Life Support and project to BAU activities.
* Manage cable management between office outlets and end user systems.
* Definition and regular reporting of KPIs for the Desktop Support Team.
