Events and Communities Marketing Lead

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Events and Communities Marketing Lead to join our global business as we embark on an exciting journey to challenge the boundaries of our industry.

SThree are a specialist talent organisation with a portfolio of 10 recruitment brands that focus on STEM sectors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). You'll be joining a global team of over 2,800 people who work across more than 40 offices in 16 countries all over the world.

We're currently building a world-class team of specialists in marketing, branding, content, and digital demand generation. By working in partnership with our international teams, we will form an integral part of SThree's new Centre of Excellence in Glasgow.

What will you be doing?

As our Events and Communities Marketing Lead, you'll outline a global strategy for our events, and will design our approach to building and maintaining online and offline communities for our portfolio of global recruitment brands.

As part of our ambitious growth plans, you'll be critical in ensuring we connect with our customers in a meaningful and valuable manner. To succeed, we require someone who can help us design and manage the event and community aspect of our new demand engine. You'll deliver a strategy that creates awareness, drives acquisition, and optimises the conversion and retention of our customers.

You'll seek insights from the digital signals people give us, and use this to plan the next best experiences for them. You'll achieve this by creating events, workshops, webinars, and video content that captures their interest and drives conversation.

So, what are we looking for?

As a self-motivated professional, you'll identify, coordinate, execute, and track events across our global business; you'll offer a blend of tactical expertise, superior project management skills, and a strategic perspective around events, and the audiences who attend them. Your attentive nature and excellent time management skills will allow you to excel when working towards tight deadlines.

What skills/experience should you have?

You should have 5+ years' experience of managing and organising both small and large scale events, and should also have at least 3 years' experience of creating and growing online and offline communities.

Day-to-day, you will:

Design a best practice approach to the planning and delivery of events, conferences, seminars, workshops, and webinars

Manage a global event calendar, and lead the implementation and development of an international events, sponsorship and communities strategy

Optimise the event and communities strategy and execution to achieve its objectives - brand awareness, lead generation, and talent acquisition

Set KPIs and create monthly reports that provide insights across events and community channels, and audit our existing calendar of events and communities to determine their strategic suitability and potential ROI

Research industry events - seeking opportunities for our brands, and working with your marketing colleagues across the business to prepare business cases and event plans

Support the planning, budgeting, marketing, and delivery of large-scale international events

Who will you be working with?

Essentially, we've built an in-house agency of 50+ creative and highly skilled individuals. Together, we will lead the strategy and drive marketing innovation and best-practice throughout the business. As our Events and Communities Marketing Lead, you'll be joining the team in Glasgow, and will sit within the Brand Marketing team. You'll work closely with the Head of Brand Marketing, as well as the wider marketing team, stakeholders, and external partners.
