Application Support Manager

We have a very exciting opportunity for an Application Support Manager to join an international FTSE 250 group based in Central London. The Application Support Manager is a senior member of the service delivery management team, having responsibility for all centrally managed corporate business and online applications, and will have input and influence over the service delivery team's roadmap and strategy.

The successful Application Support Manager will be tasked with managing an international team to support a range of applications and ensure they are facilitating the achievement of business goals and objectives, as well as effectively allocating and utilising resources and skillsets within the team to better manage and support the application portfolio as it moves towards a more cloud-focused model.

Working as the Application Support Manager, your role will include:

* Effective proactive support and maintenance of business applications and databases, ensuring reliable, secure and performant application services.

* Owning the corporate business applications portfolio and roadmaps.

* Ensuring that business applications and database security controls are effectively managed.

* Engaging with key stakeholders, such as business analysts, architects & project managers, to ensure business needs are met.

Skills required for the Application Support Manager:

* Strong hands-on team management in an application support environment. Database support responsibilities are a plus.

* Good understanding of cloud-based offerings (i.e. SaaS, PaaS) and how they work, along with associated challenges.

* Knowledge of both traditional (ITIL) and modern (Agile/Lean) service management methodologies.

* Knowledge of Information Security and associated legislation i.e. GDPR.

* Demonstrable record of designing and implementing processes and procedures that facilitate continuous improvement.
