About Economics Statistics Group

The Economic Statistics Group produces a wide range of data and analysis to support decision makers and help people understand the UK economy. As an inspiring member of the ONS leadership team, you will establish strong relationships with key stakeholders to motivate, collaborate and innovate with, and for, others.

This role reflects a reorganisation within the Economic Statistics Group as we carry out our Economic Statistics Transformation Programme. New methods and data sources are being integrated, and there is a focus on developing new capabilities and ways of working. This exciting role requires an enthusiastic, experienced and senior leader to help us deliver our ambitious plans.

Director, Macroeconomic Statistics and Analysis

This role will manage a diverse set of deliverables including:

           Building the ONS’s understanding of the different sectors in the economy, including the development of enhanced financial accounts;

           Overseeing the regular production and ongoing development of trade statistics;

           Developing the ONS’s understanding of productivity and related plans to build strong micro-data around UK businesses;

           Overseeing the development of ONS’s price indices; and

           Managing the ONS’s external relationships with academia and other experts who are supporting the ONS in its developments.
