Based in Scotland, the Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) Design Engineer will work on a range of diverse products for a world-class Electronics Company. Key responsibilities will include designing innovative Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) for a variety of products, generating power supply design solutions, DC-DC converters, AC-DC power supplies, supporting senior engineers in the design and development of power supplies, documenting of hardware activities and testing/debugging/qualifying designs.
Other responsibilities will include schematic generation, circuit analysis, PCB design/layout and providing support in existing power supply designs projects.
The ideal candidate will be a degree qualified Engineer in Electronics, Physics or related subject and have a solid knowledge in analogue electronics. You will be well versed in power supply topologies, schematic generation, the ability to read/analyse circuits, use of general lab equipment including oscilloscopes, EMC design/test, MathCAD, PSpice (or similar software for circuit simulation), PCB software to enter schematics and conduct simple layout.
