Application Support Analyst

Job Purpose:

To support clients using our finance software application. To Interact with staff to resolve general software and hardware issues. To utilise new technologies to improve business processes. Proven technical skills in SQL are essential. Previous experience working in a Saas environment, with premium finance or in financial services is desirable.

Key Skills and Responsibilities

Technical Skills

Essential:

Basic knowledge of SQL Databases, Network troubleshooting, Support of Windows 7, Windows 10, and MacOS based systems.

Desirable:

Basic understanding of APIs and REST based Web Services, PL/SQL, Shell Scripting, SOAP UI tool, Jira, Confluence, Office 365 Administration

Responsibilities

- Maintain a detailed understanding of the product technically and functionally

- Make recommendations for product enhancement and revisions to the product manual/user guide based on support and training experience

- Carrying out business process reviews with clients to ensure that existing processes are still relevant and that where change is required it is managed effectively to deliver improvements to business efficiency without upsetting the status quo

- Applying the company's implementation techniques to deliver services to new clients

- Involvement in all stages of the delivery cycle: from research to development, working closely with the developers and business analysts

- Overseeing the implementation and automation of new Admin/Support scripts and tools as part of a process of continuous improvement.

- Thoroughly document product and process inconsistencies/issues/ software concerns for follow-up and/or resolution by ASEs development team.

- Managing, investigating, resolving and / or escalating pre- and post-implementation issues via our ticketing systems.

- Providing first and second line support including ad-hoc training to clients via email and remote sessions

- Helping with systems administration as required to ensure the smooth operation of all systems with 100% uptime

- Carrying out other ad hoc duties as required including setting up and configuring new laptops and maintaining assets

Qualifications and Experience

- An IT related degree qualification would be desirable, but not necessary

- Likely to have 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role

- Knowledge of both the insurance broker and insurer markets in UK an advantage

- An understanding of premium finance an advantage
