Digital Security and Privacy Engineer

Cambridge

4 Month initial Contract

Rates of up to £380 per day

Description:

We are looking for an experienced Digital Security software Engineer to ensure our 'smart' laboratory instruments adhere to the highest security standards that GE Life Sciences are globally adopting. You will be responsible for validating and documenting the security of our hardware and cloud software solutions, ensuring our customers data is never compromised. You will be working within a tightknit multidisciplinary team following an agile development methodology in a start-up-like environment but with all the resources of GE.

Key Responsibilities

* Responsibility for structuring our legacy products to the GE Life Sciences approaches and templates.

* Working with the global Digital Engineering and Privacy Security teams to ensure compliance.

* Identifying, prioritising and patching any identified security or privacy vulnerabilities.

* Working with the rest of the development team to validate and transfer improvements to manufacture & the field.

* Write quality software, following industry best-practice and working according our quality system.

Qualifications and Experience

* Degree in Computer Science or related discipline

* 5 years+ commercial experience working in C++ or C# & Linux environments

* In-depth understanding of network stacks and threat vector modelling.

* Experience of embedded software including experience coding for an RTOS / embedded devices.

Desired characteristics

* Demonstrated interest in digital security and networking.

* Familiarity with Agile project management techniques

* Experience of working in a regulated environment, ideally medical devices

Knowledge of Unix-based operating systems
