Network Security Engineer / Firewall Engineer

Experis are recruiting for a Network Security Engineer for a global provider of IT Security Services.

The role will be working with an experienced team of Engineers task with supporting a range of clients.

Key Responsibilities

· Responsible for design review, build, implementation and test, and ongoing support and maintenance of Firewalls (Checkpoint, Fortinet, Palo Alto) and other associated network security hardware and software within the supported environment.

· Working with other teams to plan, design and implement network security solutions

· Monitoring and maintaining service availability and security.

· Working within established change control processes

· Ability to interface and consult with internal and external clients at a technical and business level.

Required Technical Skills;

· Strong knowledge of network routing/switching (VLANs, trunking, link aggregation, routing protocols, multi cast, other LAN protocols).

· Working knowledge and understanding of diverse networked applications

· Extensive experience in configuration and administration of routing and security protocols (IPSec, SSL, VPN, DNS, DHCP, SSH, QoS).

· Sound knowledge and experience of managing and troubleshooting next generation firewalls;

· Threat Prevention/Intrusion Detection

Other Skills Required;

· Ability to lead teams of network security engineers

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with variety of audiences; technical and business

· Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines

· Work closely with others to meet team goals and improve processes and practice

· Provide status reports and updates to management as required

· Solid attention to detail

· Government security cleared or eligible for clearance (British National resident in UK for 5 years)
