VCharge is the centrepiece of OVO’s ambition in becoming the world leader in distributed energy technology. It is an intelligent control layer running on top of the already existing energy infrastructure, giving both the market players as well the end consumers a fast forward ticket to the distributed energy future. VCharge will be the nervous system of the OVO’s energy IoT landscape sitting between grid operators and end customers, and connecting energy suppliers, energy IoT and VPP.

What's the job about?

This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to establish themselves as our end to end specialist and become a knowledge expert on our platform.

Working alongside our Product engineering teams you will be owning the E2E manual test scenarios, scripts and organize as well as maintain them using TestRail. There is an established test regression suite but as our platform is evolving rapidly we need to build upon, adapt and refine them. You will work across multiple teams and have to engage with stakeholders in order to identify the best strategy for the job as well as help define acceptance criterias during sprint execution.

As we are establishing this function internally from scratch there will be scope to lead a team.

As a person, you must be an excellent communicator as well as able to comprehend complex sets of use-cases in a fast pace environment.

We think that having a background within the IoT space is a must have, if you are able to demonstrate knowledge in that domain and show enthusiasm for what we do then we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

- Produce and maintain test scripts, scenarios and packages

- Work with VCharge Product teams in establishing a Testing/Quality culture, evangelising testing strategies, methodologies and good practises

- Collaborate with Product owners and engineers in defining acceptance and exit criterias for user stories, contribute to establishing/refining our definition of done

- Test execution (hands-on testing)

- Produce regular updates and establish comms channels in line with feature and regression testing activities

- Ability to engage with Engineers in discussing scope and coverage of low level unit and integration tests

Ideal Experience

- Test lead for a Product team/Squad within an Agile delivery framework

- Expert in differentiating different types/levels of testing including functional, non-functional, scripted, exploratory, feature, regression, smoke tests etc...

- Experience building complex end to end test plans, scenarios and test cases

- Having previously led the testing strategy of complex projects

- Prior use of a test management tool such as TestRail

- Prior testing experience of IoT devices

- Ability to collaborate efficiently with engineering teams in defining acceptance criterias

- Having worked with Data Science teams would be a plus

- An appreciation for Software and hardware security
