DevOps Engineer - The Role

This is a unique opportunity to work with our Network team and use your experience of your programming and coding skills to contribute to a positive and vital cause. We want you to accelerate our intent to modernise by becoming an agile, lightweight and responsive organisation.

Join us and you will operate and maintain systems and applications as well as lead our software integration strategy. This role is key in educating and inspiring your expert infrastructure colleagues with programming and coding skills.

Your experience will help guide colleague’s choices of new and replacement applications like our CRM, Human Resources and other legacy applications.

You will communicate interoperability requirements to teams within the business and ensure a common understanding of the advantages for using formalised data structures, standards and sharing.

You will also develop plans to create a software architecture that allows flow and transformation between our data silos as well as support teams automate manual processes where possible.

DevOps Engineer - Requirements

You must possess a relevant qualification in software architecture or design as well as experience of designing software solutions leveraging SQL and/or NoSQL technologies, for example MariaDB or ElasticSearch.

Proficient in PowerShell, Python and with version control systems, preferably Git, you will have solid operating system administration skills and expertise in architecting and selecting solutions which can reliably be resurrected in IT Disaster Recovery scenarios.

You will also have experience of Public Cloud and of leveraging Identity Federation solutions in software, such as Azure Active Directory and Ping Federate.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code solutions like Puppet, Chef, Ansible or Terraform and logging and search solutions like ElasticSearch ELK stacks, Splunk or Graylog would be an advantage.
