SENIOR TEST ANALYST: (AUTOMATION, JIRA, UAT, SDLC, AGILE)

SENIOR TEST ANALYST: (AUTOMATION, JIRA, UAT, SDLC, AGILE)

The work location is in CAMBRIDGE and is a 3-month + extensions contract.

Role is paying between £400 - 435 per day.

Responsibilities:

* You will be expected to provide a clear direction for our testing strategy, initially over two Agile scrum teams, but this could increase. You will also support and train the team to ensure they understand the value of a test analyst and the responsibilities of the role and to ensure the team are following best practice regarding quality.

* You will also be expected to provide technical leadership, not just for testing as a whole, but also within a given area of specialism (e.g. Test Automation).

Key Skills:

* Working closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts Developers and third party suppliers, to fully understand the business requirements such that effective test cases may be defined. This will include providing input on the 'definition of testable'

* Regularly tracking performance against quality assurance metrics

* Regularly attending scrum ceremonies, such as Sprint Planning, and actively participating to ensure your progress is transparent

* Scoping all testing work going through the team through Agile estimating and planning.

* Preparing appropriately detailed test plans for projects and BAU deliveries and provision of factual, up to date test progress reports.

* Running UAT workshops and demos with senior stakeholders

* Creating and maintaining both functional and non-functional test cases.

* Executing test cases and clearly documenting your findings

* Planning and managing with appropriate tooling (e.g. Jira, test automation).

What do I need?

* An in depth understanding of the full Software Delivery Lifecycle (ideally in both waterfall and agile models).

* Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to clearly provide technical explanations in Layman's terms

* Demonstrable experience in the timely delivery of test phases for medium-large scale IT programmes/projects.

* Experience of delivering with vendor teams is a must, ideally with an offshore component.

* Prior management, supervisory and/or team leadership experience is beneficial.

* In depth knowledge of one or more test specialisms (e.g. Automation, Load/Performance, etc.) and experience of rolling these out in a new team, is very beneficial

* In depth knowledge of testing concepts, phases and types of testing.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* The individual must be comfortable with objectively challenging their peers and superiors to ensure adherence to agreed quality standards (this equally applies to vendors).

* Whilst robustness and integrity are important, the individual must also be pragmatic and able to adapt to the needs of the business.

* A proactive attitude, with a desire to help drive improvements and maximise value delivered to the business.

* A proven ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, organising your own work and tasks
