3rd Line Support

One of our Midlands based clients, is looking for a 3rd Line Support Engineer to join their Birmingham based team. You will work within the IT Support team, supporting the in-house servers and network infrastructure and High Availability (HA). You will act as the escalation point for the 1st and 2nd line support team members. You will work closely with the Head of IT and act as mentor to other members of the team.

As 3rd line support you will be the last point of escalation and will need to deal with business critical IT issues. You will need to be able to provide resolutions and work arounds to any serious IT issues to reduce the impact on the business.

The successful candidate will be required to work an on call rota.

3rd Line Support duties will include, but not limited to:

*Support business critical systems, taking responsibility for their stability and recommending improvements to be made

*Configure and take responsibility for the continual running and maintenance of the IT Server Infrastructure Virtual Environment

*Troubleshoot critical server and system issues

*Manage development plans and processes for upgrades

*Undertake mentoring and training for 1st and 2nd line staff members

*Take responsibility for designing and scoping new IT Solutions to meet the business needs

As 3rd Line Support, you will be required to possess:

*Strong experience working within a 3rd Line Support role previously

*Proven track record configuring Windows 2012 and other servers

*Strong technical knowledge within virtual environments, domain management, High Availability, and systems deployment

*Experience managing VOIP, and telephone solutions

*Knowledge of IT Security policies, principals and best practices

*Ability to design, test and build critical IT Solutions - focusing on IR Virtual and HA Server topologies

*Strong knowledge with Configuration file share systems - HyperV, ESXi and other clustering technologies

*Previous experience managing switches, routers and Firewalls. And be familiar with network fundamentals (TCP/IP, trunking and VPN)

With a salary on offer of up to £33,000 + shift allowance + annual bonus, this is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to take ownership of IT technical issues within a rapidly expanding organisation.
