Project Manager - Software

Location: Nottingham

A global blue chip company are currently recruiting for a software Project Manager that will be based in Nottingham. The Project Manager will be accountable for delivery of specific program(s) of Technology work. Typical scope of the projects will be greater than 6 months, involve more than 10 FTEs which are cross functional and be a project that is critical to the company meeting its objectives. This role operates between normal 9-5 working hours but offers job flexibility for example early starts or late finishes. This role would also need the candidate to travel to London once or twice a month. The successful candidate would be part of a large PMO team, that would work on projects across the software department. The projects tend to be application based, although sometimes infrastructure and business change projects.

Responsibilities

* Provide transparency to projects and programs

* Successfully deliver projects and programs on time and to meet business objectives

* Build/Maintain a successful team of project and program managers

* Stakeholder management

* Member of the PMO leadership team driving and supporting process improvement and service excellence

Skills Essential

* Experience with similar sized projects (£1-2 million)

* Good knowledge of PM methodology and governance and able to be flexible about which approach is taken

* Strong interpersonal skills, able to navigate different teams within a complex global business

* Autonomous and proactive - able to manage their own work day-to-day
