Role: Scrum Master

Start Date: ASAP

Location: London

Duration: 4 months

As a member of the Delivery Group's Scrum Master community, the Scrum Master will help guide the teams and organisation on how to use Agile / Scrum practices and values.

Responsibilities include:

* Organising and facilitating all Scrum Ceremonies.

* Facilitating 'getting the work done' without assigning or dictating tasks to be undertaken.

* Supporting the Product owner by:

* Assisting in the creation of the product backlog

* Coaching effective product backlog management

* Coaching the Product Owner in agile techniques and Scrum

* Driving continuous improvements within the team and contributing to wider initiatives within the Delivery Group.

* Monitor and communicate team progress, velocity and readiness against sprint commitments and goals.

* Reporting and monitoring of team progress to stakeholders, improving transparency of information

* Support the team in being as productive as possible by removing impediments and protecting the team from external distractions

* Working with other Scrum Masters within the delivery group to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum

* Support the delivery group by contributing to and championing Agile initiatives within the delivery group

Essential Knowledge, Criteria and Skills

* Experience with development and APIs for deployment to AWS

* Jira

* Evidence of performing a Scrum Master role for at least 2 years in a Software Development environment.

* PSM1 Scrum Master Certification (scrum.org).

* Knowledge of Scrum at Scale Frameworks (SAFe).

* In depth understanding of the Scrum framework (as set out by scrum.org).

* Experience in organising and facilitating all Scrum Ceremonies.

* Knowledge of wider Agile approaches and techniques: User Stories, Kanban, TDD, Continuous Integration, Pair Programming, Automated Testing etc.

* Experience of using Jira and Confluence

* Experience of working in a collaborative environment in accomplishing tasks and achieving goals.

* Experience of operating and championing a trusting environment, to facilitate the raising of issues in an open arena for wider discussion.

* Experience in planning and time management

* Strong verbal and written communications skills

* Evidence of mentoring and performing line management responsibilities

* Knowledge and understanding of DevOps practices

Desirable Knowledge, Criteria and Skills

* Evidence of continued education in Scrum, such as training, self-study, user groups, etc.

* Experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders.

* Proven ability to work in a team environment under pressure to deliver quality products to tight deadlines.

* Ability to create, seek and act upon opportunities to obtain and share knowledge.

* Full software development lifecycle experience an advantage

* Project planning and leading teams
