Our client is the charity that saves lives at sea. Their Lifeboat crews need a dedicated, professional and talented team behind them so whatever the weather they can operate to the highest standards and save lives at sea.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join their Engineering and Asset Management (EAM) team. This key role is fundamental to the charity’s ability to continue to provide and sustain high quality products and services used to undertake and support effective lifesaving activities.

The largest lifeboat type in our client’s fleet, the Severn Class is approaching the end of its original 25 year design life, but they believe that it can continue to provide lifesaving capability well into the future, so they’re planning to extend it’s lifespan by carrying out a package of engineering upgrades at the All Weather Lifeboat Centre in Poole.

Our client is looking for an experienced Project Manager to run the design and implementation phases of the project.

Your role will include the day-to-day running of the project to deliver requirements, as well as the usual project management activities of planning, monitoring, reporting, escalating, etc. in accordance with company Project Management processes based on standard project methodologies (PRINCE2 / MSP).

To be considered, you will need:

- Experience of implementing projects using standard PM methodologies

- Substantial experience of delivering large scale projects/programmes

- Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management

- Excellent stakeholder management skills

- A degree level qualification

- A project management certification

If you have the necessary qualities, skills and experience, and want to be part of an organisation where your efforts will help save even more lives, then our client would love to hear from you.

The closing date for applications is the 17th June 2018, with interviews scheduled to be held on the 2nd July 2018.

Our client’s staff and volunteers have been saving lives at sea without prejudice for nearly 200 years. They respect and value diversity of background, skills and perspectives within their teams, and consider it essential to help deliver a world-class lifesaving service. They are an inclusive organisation and welcome applications from everyone. In addition to having the skills needed for the role, they also look for applicants who share their commitment to living their values (trustworthy, courageous, selfless, and dependable), and helping them work towards their goals of halving drowning in the UK and Ireland by 2024. This involves a growing commitment to preventative action, using expertise to work in partnership with communities locally, nationally and internationally to prevent drowning.
