Introduction
An unprecedented opportunity has come to light due to company success and growth.
The company is a very successful and large subcontractor, on a number of infrastructure projects, with ongoing works including: Sub-stations, Onshore Windfarms, Reactive maintenance; Ducting, Cabling, HV Powerlines.
Role Overview
Responsibility to oversee all aspects of multiple projects, from start to completion, ensuring they are undertaken on programme, on budget, to a high standard of quality and safety in line with company procedures.
Responsible for projects throughout mainland UK, with requirement to visit sites on a regular basis, with occasional overnight stays if necessary.
Ideal Candidate Requirements
Ideally based in the north-west of England, within commuting distance the head office in Greater Manchester.
Well-presented, articulate, able to liaise directly with clients & present a good company image, good meetings skills, diplomatic, customer-focussed, trust worthy
Personality: self-motivated, focussed, confident, enthusiastic, versatile, organised, resourceful, natural leadership skills.
Highly literate, numerate and with good IT skills (spreadsheets, etc.)
Able to efficiently source, organise, plan and allocate resources (site management, labour, plant, materials & specialist sub-contractors)
Planning is a key activity and use of MS Project for programming is essential
As well as being contractually astute (Ideally NEC 3)
Ideally degree-qualified (preferably in Civil Engineering), min. 5 years site experience, with previous experience in this type of management role
Conversant with current Health, Safety and Environmental procedures / systems of work
Other Essential Attributes
Financially aware, detailed financial monitoring and reporting
Able to keep accurate records of project costs.
Able to prepare Payment Applications & evaluate works undertaken.
Understanding of contract conditions (NEC 3, etc.)
Assess and recover additional / extra works. Resolve any disputes
Combine costs / valuation information to monitor profit margins
Experience in utilities sector beneficial, but not essential alternative experience in drainage, road construction/maintenance, groundworks / civils
HV cable installation experience would be a significant benefit.
