Faculty / Directorate
The contribution of the Information Technology and Media Services (ITMS) directorate is essential in the delivery of the corporate strategy for the University to maintain the quality of its provision and its distinctiveness. The University is continuing to make a significant investment in its IT and media services provision to ensure the delivery of a consistent, high quality IT and media services across the University.
Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled Audio-Visual Services Technician to join a team who install, support, design and maintain A/V and IT equipment in approximately 450 facilities across the University such as classrooms, labs,
lecture theatres, and meeting rooms, ensuring a high level of availability and usability for staff and students.
We have a wide range of A/V systems on campus and troubleshoot issues end to end, from checking wiring & DM terminations to Debugging code & making changes to programs currently running in A/V spaces.
Your role will be to help support these functions across campus and to be a point of technical escalation for the rest of the team.
Ideal Candidate
It is essential that you have experience in an audio-visual or technical support services in a large and complex environment, operating to agreed service levels and possess good knowledge of current and future trends in audio-visual technologies and IT.
Knowledge of A/V wiring, technical drawings, networking, general IT Skills, Crestron systems and programming would be highly advantageous.
You will have excellent team working, communication, organisational and customer service skills with the ability to build effective relationships and user expectations, and must be a strong team player who can analyse and prioritise your own and the team’s workload and meet challenging deadlines. You will be expected to be flexible and react quickly to changing priorities whilst maintaining a high level of customer service.
Further training will be available for Crestron programming, AVIXA CTS, ITIL Foundation etc. if required, to the successful candidate.
