*Principal Engineer

*6 month contract - with chance of extension

*Starting end of May

* Up to £43 per hour

My client is looking for a Principal engineer to bring their experience of managing highway structural asses and delivering structures schemes.

As a Principal Engineer you will be able to adapt to the related projects required, for example supporting planning applications.

Job duties include;

*Procurement, planning, feasibility, design

*Financial

*Resource management of schemes

*Working closely with developers, contractors and in-house delivery team

*Undertaking project and programme management, managing resources and budgets.

*Undertaking structural Inspections and assessments and commenting structural inspection/assessment reports provided by others.

*Responding to developer's proposals.

*Structural Design and supervision of contractors and our own in-house construction teams.

*Working as part of a team.

Experience/skills required;

*Experience with Highway structures

*Experience of working at principal level

*Experience working within local authorities is desirable

*Have the competence to use IT systems including, Microsoft Office suite, GIS based mapping systems, and an understanding of AutoCAD

*Experience of consultation and negotiation with other Directorates, Councils, statutory undertakers and organisations to ensure all interested parties are fully informed of your projects.
