As the Test Manager you will work within the testing team, supporting the Test Programme Manager to deliver reliable and effective testing activities to ensure the business needs are delivered on time, budget and quality are met across the Transformation and Small Change portfolios.

This role will include the line management and development of Test Leads, Test Analysts and SMEs.

Areas of responsibility:

* 1: 1 leadership and development of direct reports (including mentoring and coaching)

* Define strategy/approach for high complexity projects and strategic deliveries

* Work with PMs to provide testing input into project schedules (scope, test estimates and approach)

* Interpretation of specifications and requirements to plan and execute robust test cases and coverage

* Overall responsibility at project level for the delivery of all stages of testing through to end of warranty for high / medium complexity projects

* Business resource identification & co-ordination throughout project

* Ensure testing risks and issues are identified and mitigated against

* Provides accurate, fit for purpose and timely status reporting

* Provides input to entry / exit stage gates with PMO

* Work with Programme Test Manager to embed process, quality improvements and best practice

* Work with Team Manager to identify resource requirements, allocate work and manage skill and experience levels within the team

* Provide support in a deputy capacity where necessary for the Test Programme Manager to ensure continuity of a quality assurance is achieved across test activities within the Transformation and Small Change portfolios

Essential experience:

* A minimum five years experience as a Test Manager within Financial Services.

* Very experienced in the discipline of testing and the part it plays in an organisation

* Accomplished delivery within a Test Manager role

* Proven experience in producing effective test management documentation (test strategy/plan/approach)

* A proven people manager - clear, supportive, diligent and effective at managing under performance

* Experience in the use of a testing tool for design, execution management and defect recording

* Proven ability to build effective relationships with 3rd party suppliers, key stakeholders and internal teams

* Have thorough knowledge of testing techniques and be able to provide creative solutions to optimize test analysis and design in projects

* Ability to create and execute test scripts

Desirable:

* Experience of mutli-supplier programme delivery

* Legacy system/product migrations

* Awareness of working with automated tools

* Experience of working with Agile methodologies

Qualifications:

Essential -ISTQB Testing Certificate Advanced or ISEB Practitioner
