Java Developer, Java 8This is a hugely exciting opportunity for an experienced Java Developer to form part of an experimental, innovative, self-directed R&D team, tasked with coming up with products to enhance the way we live and work with the internet. Working specifically in the exciting area of autonomous vehicles, the Java Developer will be working predominantly on the business and backend layers across a variety of projects, further developing and enhancing the codebase.The CompanyThe Java Developer will join an Oxford-based company at the forefront of the UK internet, playing a pivotal role in the provision of internet services for the past 20 years. Following a major re-branding, the Java Developer will be joining during an exciting time of change and innovation. Whilst you're likely to have excellent technical knowledge across a broad range of technologies, key areas for the Java Developer include:

'€¢Backend Java experience.  My client uses Java 8 and a few Java EE features (database stuff in particular)'€¢The ability to structure and write decent code, working independently to produce code that doesn't need review'€¢Databases (SQL + NoSQL), JDBC, persistence layers (ORMs like JPA or Hibernate)'€¢Messaging (like Kafka, ActiveMQ, JMS)'€¢REST, JSON'€¢Maven'€¢Git'€¢Some experience using a non-Windows development environment
