Software Engineer with C# .Net experience to work on a range of defence products. You will have experience of Software Design to stringent safety critical standards. Defence client with over 60 years experience, working in a rural setting near Shrewsbury.

Purpose of the Role:

To work, as a professional Software Engineer, in a Systems Engineering company. You will join a team of software engineers designing, implementing and testing software for use primarily in the Defence and Industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Production of software detailed designs and code implementations.

Production of software test specifications and methods.

Plan technical activities and tasks. Agree time-scales and objectives.

Monitor and report progress and actual effort expended.

Work to existing processes and practices whilst also enabling process improvements.

Support existing products and applications.

Essential Skills:

Ability to design and develop OO solutions using UML and C#.

Fluency in C# .Net.

Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 application development.

Ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and management.

Highly Desirable Skills

Experience in use of Enterprise Architect for UML detailed SW design.

Familiarity of Design Patterns and their use in UML design and code implementation.

Experience with Visual Studio 2010 and .Net 3.5 or higher.

Experience of SCRUM or similar agile methods in addition to more traditional formal methods.

Familiarity with Security-Critical.

Desirable Skills:

Familiarity of SysML.

Experience of two or more of CAN, Ethernet TCP/IP sockets, RS232 protocols.

Experience with one or more of Subversion, Bugzilla, Python, shell scripts, InstallShield.

Database and SQL knowledge. Web application development in .Net.

Embedded SW or FW development with Linux, Windows, other OS or no OS.

Enthusiasm and knowledge of software development and project lifecycles.

Experience and Qualifications

Experience in a relevant software engineering role in the defence and industrial related sectors.

Preferably degree qualified in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
