Embedded Multimedia Software Team Leader

Our Client is an award Electronics Company. As part of the next stage of development our client is expanding its design-centre in Belfast to spearhead new product development.

Based in Belfast and reporting to the Design Manager, the multimedia team leader is responsible for leading a team of up to 10 engineers. The team lead will work closely with colleagues in Software Development, Sales, Marketing and Executive Management to ensure that a quality product is delivered to customers.

Key activities:

* Architecture, modelling and partitioning of complex multimedia Embedded software for the team while achieving power, compute and memory requirements

* Lead, develop and motivate the software team

* Manage the day-to-day planning, operation of the team, keeping the team focused and on track.

* Manage the team's resources. Work with other teams, particularly within the Applications Team, Deployment Group, and other internal customers to maintain a priority balance that takes a company-wide view.

* Execute the project using our clients software development process & adhere to the quality procedures. Initiate sub-groups or sub-teams as appropriate to resolve issues and perform tasks in parallel.

* Review project requirement, functional specifications and various standards to create the project development plans required to deliver project.

* Be responsible for specifications, architectures, designs, implementation and test for all projects

* Familiarize the team with the project requirements, specifications, design targets, the development process, design standards, techniques and tools.

* Monitor and report team progress against project timescales. Hold weekly meetings, discuss task delegation and review issues and compile weekly status reports on project performance.

* The team lead is also responsible for coordinating the creation of technical & release documentation, including release notes, user manuals, code documentation & marketing material (if required).

Work with the design canter manager to develop the team and the engineers' careers through training and staff development.

To apply you will require:

* Min 5 years industry experience

* Architectural modelling and benchmarking experience using Matlab, C

* Extensive Embedded Real Time software development in C for platforms such as ARM or TI DSPs including optimisation

* Electronic Engineering or Computer Science Honours Degree
