We’re looking for a highly motivated individual to join our newly created, Local Digital Media Investigation Team.
As a Local Digital Media Investigator you’ll provide advice, guidance and assistance to local officers and staff around retrieving data from digital storage devices. You’ll also produce reports to support criminal investigations and prosecutions.
It is essential you’ve knowledge and understanding of digital investigation techniques including, the physical downloading of mobile devices. You’ll need to advise on a range of digital disciplines such as open source, social media, CCTV, ANPR, communications intelligence and body worn video.
This role is challenging and evolving which will require you to undertake continuous professional development to keep up to date with changing technologies, used to commit crime. It is essential you’ve previous experience and knowledge of Data Protection, The Management of Police Information (MOPI).
You’ll need to demonstrate skills and experience in the following areas:
-Proven technical IT skills
-Knowledge of a wide range of software packages
-Excellent written and verbal communications skills
-Working with others
-Working within a customer service environment
Previous experience working in a digital investigative role within the policing environment would be advantageous, but not essential.
This role will be based at police stations in Kent and Essex (exact locations will be determined by the Force) and you’ll be required to work a 7 day shift pattern over a 5 week period.
