What you’ll be doing

Architecting, designing and owning a cutting edge Development Operations and Support framework to be used across all projects run by the Centre. Develop, deploy and support infrastructures, applications, software solutions and technology initiatives from an architectural and operational perspective in conjunction with existing standards and methods of delivery. Support technical escalation of L3/advanced issues for problem resolution. Apply deep knowledge of industry standards and vendor certifications.

Overall:

-Plan and implement medium to high risk changes on production systems.

-May participate in:

-Planning and designing new platforms and integrating new technologies into existing infrastructure

-Evaluating new technologies and new releases

-Conducting cost analysis of newly designed platforms and technologies focus on Accenture and industry standards, policies and best practices

-Analyze and assess the impact and risk of low to medium risk changes on production systems

-Resolve Level1/2 incidents affecting the operation/availability of production systems, through troubleshooting and implementing known fixes.

-Conduct trend analysis with a focus on proactive identification of events/issues that threaten performance and a consistent & timely resolution and documentation.

-Deploy standard repeatable build outs.

-Install, configure, patch and maintain appropriate technologies (e.g. servers/databases/network/ storage/software solutions).

-Manage and support backup strategies.

-Analyze system performance indicators and recommend improvement actions.

-Monitor vendors' release notes and plan necessary upgrades and patches as required.

-Assist disaster recovery tests.

-Create and review technical system recovery plans.

-Review the problem management register and identify and implement actions.

-Assess/install/maintain third-party tools.

-Make proactive suggestions for service improvements.

-Demonstrate commitment to Service Excellence.

DevOps-specific:

-Designing and directing all aspects of Continuous Delivery implementation on Accenture IT systems build or application support projects.

-Research and adapt new practices and approaches to DevOps.

-Refine, contribute and collaborate with our DevOps Centre of Excellence.

-Advising stakeholders on best practices to implement DevOps and Continuous Delivery

-Leading environment support, technology architecture and infrastructure design activities for stakeholders.

-Coaching individuals on the principles of Continuous Delivery, DevOps and Agile delivery

-Mentoring and developing junior DevOps professionals

Basic qualifications

Your skills and qualifications

-4+ years of experience defining and managing the roadmap for implementation of DevOps in an established operation.

-4+ years of experience providing service support - using DevOps, Continuous Delivery and ITIL concepts to lead an effective support operation.

-4+ years of experience working in an Agile delivery environment (SCRUM, Kanban, etc).

-At least 3 years of experience managing small to medium teams, including progress monitoring and reporting.

-Experience with code repository management, code merge and quality checks, continuous integration (Jenkins/Hudson, BuildBot, etc), and automated deployment & configuration management like Puppet/Chef, Maven/Ant, Ivy, UrbanCode, Docker or comparable tool.

-Experience working with GitHub enterprise, Atlassian Stash, or other enterprise Git repository system

Preferred Skills:

-Broad exposure to approaches and tooling for automated build, delivery and release of software.

-Knowledge of Public/Private cloud and Virtualisation Technologies

-Knowledge of Continuous Delivery and/or DevOps solutions or architecture patterns.

-Exposure to advanced testing methodologies and associated workflows (TDD, BDD)

-Can define the following architecture aspects: Availability, Maintainability, Operability, Scalability and Portability.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree. Major in econometrics, data science, engineering, technology, economics, or business a plus.
