Now is an exciting time to join the IT Department at the National Trust!

The Trust is currently delivering a number of large transformations projects to improve the experiences of our users and supporters. Central to the delivery of these projects is a technical platform that is both fit for purpose and fit for use. The role of the Technical Delivery Manager is critical to the success of these projects as well as maintaining and improving the current technical security infrastructure.

Heelis is the Central Office for the National Trust; it was named after one of the Trust’s biggest benefactors Mrs William Heelis, There are approximately 500 staff from across the Trust’s directorates, including the Executive team and the Director General, are based here.

What you'll be doing

You will be responsible for IT Technical Delivery of any implemented security solution within the Trust. You will work within the IT Technical Delivery framework ensuring that governance, processes and procedures are followed for any security solution implemented in the Trust. You will work closely with the Information Security and technology teams to ensure that all newly selected technologies conform to this. Working with Information Security Team and Technical Delivery you will identify areas for consolidation of technologies and adoption of best practice for management of the Network Security estate.

Who we're looking for

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following:

Knowledge

- Industry best practices and how to apply to them. Including firewall configuration and rulesets. Including industry benchmarks

- CISCO Certified Security Professional - must currently be certified or in the process of certification

- Linux/Windows/VM Ware Security Basics

Skills

- Able to work under pressure and to tight timescales

- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal including the ability to communicate with people with varying levels of technical knowledge

- A self-starter- ability to work independently or as part of a team

- Has the ability to influence and persuade people

- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

- Must be committed to self-development and be enthusiastic about acquiring new skills and embracing new technologies

Experience

- Specialist knowledge and understanding of enterprise technologies, including hosting and networks, their design and security

- Experience Network Security - Firewall, ACL, IDS, IPS, SIEM

- Specific experience in Cisco Routers, Switches, or Firewall

- Microsoft - Active Directory, DNS, WSUS, Terminal Server

- TCP/IP protocols - SMTP, SNMP, FTP, HTTP, SSH, SSL

- Experience working with IT Security

- Security incident response

- Implementing new processes and procedures

- Experience working with 3rd parties/partners or offshore teams
