The Java Developer will work within a multi-disciplined Agile software development team. Capable of operating as a team member producing software and supporting artifacts to a high level of quality, as defined by the Technical Lead, in the time scales agreed with Iteration & Project Manager and other stakeholders.

The Java Developer will adhere to Agile principles and be comfortable and experienced with following Agile practices specifically Scrum and XP (including pair programming, test driven development and continuous integration). In following an iterative approach to deliver the Java Developer will be able to take a story from the initial idea through to production quality working software. Java Web Developer will be expected to be multi-disciplined, but will be focused on delivering web services to be consumed by the web site and back end systems. The developer must also be capable to adapt and learn other relevant technologies as required in the technology stack in order to deliver through the complete software development lifecycle.

Working with the Tech Lead the Java Developer will adhere to relevant company and industry standards as well as being technically proficient awareness of non-functional requirements, architectural design and other design patterns (GoF) and awareness of coding principles (e.g. SOLID, Coding Smells).

The Java Developer will be part of a team and be comfortable collaborating with other team members and business stakeholders. Contributing to other team activities and from time to time when necessary supporting others roles within team. The Java Developer will be comfortable in coaching and mentoring others in the team in areas of web technologies. The Java Web Developer will have a passion for what they do and having a "can do" attitude in their approach and shows an interest in latest trends in IT and technology.
